PRP for Hair Loss Treatment

Although PRP was born as a plasma treatment for the face, today this technique has multiple applications. One of them is to promote hair growth. This treatment is used to prevent or reduce mild baldness, as well as to care for and strengthen hair growth after a hair transplant.
PRP is a very useful treatment to increase the thickness of the hair, especially recommended after a graft, as it favors its growth by shortening the times and making it grow with better quality. It has practically no side effects since the patient’s own platelets are used. It is a painless technique, so no local anesthesia is needed.
The steps to apply this procedure are simple. First, the patient’s blood is extracted to centrifuge it and obtain a concentration of platelet-rich plasma. Then the injections are applied in the capillary area, which allow to reach the hair follicle.
